Sarah Schumacher started teaching in 2013 and has a strong background rooted in flute and piano. She enjoys working with students to help them develop their musicianship and artistic voice as well as confidence in their abilities. Students of Sarah are consistently placed in top ensembles at their schools and selected for honor ensembles throughout Minnesota. An active performer, Sarah holds the piccolo position with Rochester Symphony Orchestra, is a substitute with the Mankato Symphony Orchestra, and is a member of the Minnesota Symphonic Winds. She holds a master's degree in flute performance from Bowling Green State University where she was the graduate flute teaching assistant and a bachelor's degree in flute performance from the University of North Dakota. Her primary teachers are Lisa Bost-Sandberg, Jeffrey Zook, and Terri Sánchez. When Sarah isn’t playing flute or teaching, she enjoys playing Stardew Valley, sewing, being outside, and spending time with her Cat - Maple.
