Madeleine is a percussionist, pianist, and music theorist based in Duluth. Originally from South Dakota, she is a current Ph.D. candidate in music theory at the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University, where she also studied percussion with Kevin Bobo, John Tafoya, and Joe Galvin. While Madeleine enjoys all types of music-making, she especially loves collaborating with others as a vocalist, accompanist, and chamber musician. She has also served as an instructor of music theory and musicology at Valley City State University (North Dakota), a national leader in online music education, since 2021. Madeleine holds a Master’s degree in music theory from Indiana University and a Bachelor of Arts in Music and Math from Concordia College. She loves running, gardening, and spending time with her partner Ryan and their two cats, Nino and Clara.
